Invite to Lexification. Each Friday I want to leave you with a poem or a passage of writing. Last Friday I wrote about Public Domain name Day, so I ‘d like to begin this Friday custom by sharing a poem published in 1929 and therefore currently in the general public domain. And D.H. Lawrence’s Pansies was released that year. To be sincere, I would certainly never ever heard of it, and I do not think it obtains much focus. There are a few poems, some rather amusing, that attracted attention to me. Right here is one that I thought suitable for the weekend break:

“Vitality”

Alas, my poor boys
do you lack vigor?

Has the covering grown also hefty for the tortoise?
Does he just squirm?

Is the frame of things also heavy
for poor young wretched guys?
Do they jazz and jump and wriggle
and rush concerning in machines
and listen to bodiless noises
and hold on to their slim girls
regarding the straw that broke the camel’s back
simply in despair,
because their spirit can not relocate?
Because their hope is pinned down by the system
and can’t also flutter?
Well well, if it is so it is so;
however keep in mind, the undaunted gods
offer vigor still to the dauntless.

And occasionally they provide it as love,
ah love, pleasant love, not so very easy …
